Well now...a year and eight months later...

... I finally remember my password...

A lot can change in that amount of time, no?

So this year, May 5, 2008 my sweet David proposed to me. We haven't exactly set a date and basically playing it by ear to see how things will progress. I'm still employed at Walgreens... but it's been over a year since I've had any rest, so needless to say, I'm so burnt out, my spirit has turned to ash. At least, that's what it feels like. But I digress...

2008 is shaping up to be a fine year indeed and I'm quite beside myself with happiness since David asked me to be his wife.

That's really all that's been going on around this joint!

Been a while...

Well, it's been a while since I posted a blog. Seems like after Erica and Tim's wedding, things keep poppin' up round the joint. Firstly, I started a new course, Health Care Essentials, and everything seems to be going well with it. I loved Medical Terminology though. This class doesn't compare. I should say that the teacher doesn't compare. Lu MacDonald was my Medical Terminology teacher and she was just awesome. But the teacher I have now..... I dunno.... I don't like her that much. She doesn't like me very much either, I don't think, so it works. But I'm still a teacher's pet whether I like her or not. And so I told you the boring information first...

The better reason for my not being around would be because I have my first boyfriend and I'm soooooo happy about that. We talk for hours and hours on line. Fact, while I'm typing this, I'm talking with him over IM as well. It feels like we're always together and it's wonderful. His name is David and we have so much in common! :) Yay! Anyhoo, so I haven't been able to check out any paintings lately, but will try to get back on that so I can post some more of those. I shall wind this up for now!

Best. Wedding. Ever.

Erica Walls and Timothy McConnaughay united in ceremony on August 12, 2006 in the presence of friends and family, also remembering Lynn Parker (The McConnaughay's mother whom passed on in 2004) before the ceremony, also during the toast and Timothy and Cristin McConnaughay danced to "Those Were The Days Of Our Lives", Lynn Parker's favorite song, in memory of her.

Erica Walls McConnaughay, the most beautiful bride, and Timothy McConnaughay, the most handsome groom, read their own vows to one another. Mrs. McConnaughay fought back tears as she read the words that meant so much to her and brought tears to the eyes of the entire wedding party and guests. It was not Erica and Timothy alone who were joined together, but the Groomsmen/Friends and family and Bridesmaids/Friends as well. We were all united by bonds of love and devotion that we all carry for Erica and Timothy.

We love you so much Erica and Tim! I know you'll have the most amazing lives together and your lives together will forever have an impact on your family because you mean so much to us.

A Bachelorette Party And Eye-Opening Experiences!

Boy howdy... I don't even know where to begin... Yes I do...

First off, Bachelorette parties are scary for those of us with a sheltered mind-set. I was shocked and appalled to see the goings-ons of such a thing. It was all in good fun, true, but I tell you what... I was quite beside myself. I didn't know what to do. My soon-to-be sister decided it was high time I had my first kiss and got the bartender (a gay one no less) to kiss me. *Shock*

And then after we left the transvetite bar we went to a dance club where I ended up losing my car keys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we were in the bad part of San Diego, keyless, at 2am, some guy came over and peed right in front of us!!! :-o My dear brother came down and rescued us... Praise the Lord for cell phones! LOL But yeah, so it was an interesting night. I was shocked and appalled at first, but then I converted back to the talent that Erin and I have in common... acting drunk. This actually made the night really a blast. But, yeah, no bachelorette parties for me when I get married!!!! :-o I will never get over this one!!! LOL

But besides all the horror that I felt at first really did turn into one heck of a party! :D

Andy Warhol, Won't You Please Come Home?

One of Warhol's most famous paintings, I dare say, aside from Tomato Soup... The colors are neat... That's all I have to say about that... :)

Georgia O'Keefe

When I first saw Georgia O'Keefe's flowers, I was taken first by the amazing rhythm. Then the powerful colors. The balance she captures using the colors as well as the symmetry of line, makes for a great piece of art that should never be picked apart by scholars looking to provoke "deep thought" in their audience. Let the paint do the talking.

Nothing's Different, Yet Everything's Changed.

The year is 2006. The gas prices are the highest they've ever been, real estate is down and the world gets warmer and warmer, war terrorizes nations, death tolls mount between the heat of an unusually warm summer, others gunned down by fellow human beings... Through all the chaos, a shining beacon of hope gleams forth through the rubble... A white flame dances against an unchanging wind... Two souls unite as one and bring happiness and harmony to such a devastated world. Love never fails us. Congratulations in advance to Erica and Tim. May they be happily married forever.

A Starry Night...

Despite the fact that I've never been fond of Van Gogh's style of painting, he was definitely on to something with A Starry Night. The free brush strokes and fluidity of the clouds, it's all very soothing. I've always taken comfort in this picture. The feeling that the painting gives it's viewer is so amazing. It could strike some people with fear with the foreboding Cypress trees that seem to capture more of an underwater feeling, overlooking the sleepy village below... Or it could fill others with a feeling of freedom with the loose brush strokes and soothing blue hues. The romantic moon floating over the town, casting it's gorgeous reflected light possibly on the face of lovers... It evokes so many different emotions. I still have little appreciation for Van Gogh's paintings, but this one seems to be the most amazing and thought provoking. It always felt less "studied" to me.

In The Beginning...

Right, so this is my first blog on here... I have written a few blogs in my computer life, but I've never actually had just a blogging joint to blog my bloggy things. So anyhoo... There will be much more added soon... stay tuned... :)
